Kristin Leong, M.Ed. is an editor, multimedia producer, and former middle school humanities teacher. She served three terms as a Washington State Teacher Leader and has been a TED-Ed Innovative Educator since 2016. Her portrait and interview project, , has been used in classrooms around the world to spark conversations between students and teachers on connecting across cultural divides.

Previously, she was a producer with Seattle’s NPR affiliate, KUOW Public Radio and the senior editor of ParentMap. With the support of a Creative Capital “Wild Futures” award, she is currently working on a book about America’s family court system. is her newsletter for misfits and unlikely optimists.
