Emily Kaplan is a freelance journalist and editor living in Brooklyn, NY. Her writing and photography appear in publications including ÁùºÏ²Ê²ÊƱ, The Hechinger Report, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and Harper's. Before becoming a journalist, she was a public school teacher licensed in elementary education and English as a Second Language. She graduated from Harvard College and Boston College's Lynch School of Education, where she was an Urban Teaching Fellow.
